Status: common and widely distributed, apart from northern Scotland
Typical habitat: favours dry rough grassland, but also frequent in gardens
Larval foodplant:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â leaves and flowers of bindweeds
Flight behaviour: flies at dusk and to light, but easily disturbed by day
Flight season: March - August
Note: listed as a recognised day-flying (DF) species
