Typical habitat: rough open ground, downs, wherever Common Ragwort grows

Larval foodplant:           mainly Common Ragwort

Flight behaviour: flies at night, but also during the day in sunshine

Flight season: May - August

Note: listed as a recognised day-flying (DF) species
