Status: primarily southern, but scattered and nationally scarce
Typical habitat: damp woodland, scrub, hedgerows, chalk downland
Larval foodplant:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â spins leaves into pods on Buckthorn or sometimes Alder Buckthorn
Flight behaviour: flies in the evenings and to light, but easily disturbed by day
Flight season: April - June, July - September
